Role Objective
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Data Analyst to lead the Data and Business Intelligence function for a growing NBFC. The role will own portfolio analytics, reporting automation, dashboard development, data quality, and team delivery across Credit, Risk, Collections, Finance, Operations, and Product.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Data team, allocate work, review deliverables, mentor junior analysts, and establish reporting standards.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards for disbursal, AUM, collections, demand, collection efficiency, DPD, bounce, NPA, write-offs, recoveries, and portfolio performance.
- Conduct portfolio, vintage, static pool, cohort, repayment behaviour, and risk analysis to identify early-warning signals and business opportunities.
- Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract, clean, validate, and reconcile data from LOS, LMS, CRM, payment systems, bureau partners, and third-party platforms.
- Automate daily, weekly, and monthly MIS, portfolio reports, collection reports, and management dashboards.
- Partner with Credit, Risk, Collections, Finance, Operations, Product, and Marketing teams to provide actionable insights and support decision-making.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, reporting SOPs, query repositories, KPI definitions, and validation checks.
- Ensure a single source of truth for key business metrics across the organisation.
Required Skills
- 5–7 years of experience in Data Analytics, Risk Analytics, Business Intelligence, or Reporting.
- Mandatory experience in an NBFC, lending fintech, bank, or digital lending organisation.
- Strong SQL skills: joins, CTEs, subqueries, window functions, query optimization, and large dataset handling.
- Strong Power BI skills: data modelling, DAX, Power Query, dashboard development, refresh management, and performance optimization.
- Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, complex formulas, reconciliation, trackers, and reporting automation.
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis, automation, and predictive modelling is preferred.
- Experience with MySQL, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, AWS RDS, cloud databases, ETL processes, and APIs is preferred.
Lending Domain Knowledge
- Strong understanding of loan lifecycle: sourcing, underwriting, disbursal, repayment, collections, foreclosure, write-off, and recovery.
- Knowledge of AUM, DPD, PAR, NPA, collection efficiency, bounce rate, roll rate, vintage, static pool, and repayment behaviour.
- Familiarity with retail lending, MSME lending, credit bureau data, KYC, fraud checks, and RBI digital lending guidelines.
Leadership Skills
- Ability to lead a data team and manage multiple priorities independently.
- Strong business understanding, structured problem-solving, and attention to detail.
- Ability to present complex data insights clearly to senior management.
- Strong ownership, stakeholder management, and process-improvement mindset.
